All-Decades Alumni Reunion
On Sunday, October 17, 2010, approximately 100 alumni and friends packed into the auditorium of St. Stanislaus Kostka School for the first annual all-decades reunion. “Sister Rosemary” (Rosemary O’Grady McCague – Class of 1972) and her bell got the party started right after the Alumni Mass.
Memorabilia included an original desk from the 1930s, a picture of the first graduating class from 1934, a beanie cap and report cards from the 1960s, yearbooks, a copy of the Kostka Kronicles and much more!
A pictorial history of the school, the early days of Maspeth (including a picture of the original church from 1872), and a history of the first five Sisters of St. Joseph who taught at, administered, and actually lived in, the school were also displayed.
Alumni caught up with former schoolmates, shared stories about their years at St. Stan’s, took a tour of the school, and enjoyed a light lunch.
A great time was had by all.
